PROTECTION AND DURABILITY
Steel fire doors are an essential component of any building’s fire safety system. These doors are specifically designed to provide superior protection in the event of a fire emergency. Made from high-quality steel, these doors are able to withstand the intense heat and flames of a fire, slowing down the spread of the fire and allowing more time for occupants to evacuate the building safely.
Additionally, steel fire doors are equipped with specialized hardware, such as self-closing mechanisms and automatic door bottoms, that help to seal the door shut and prevent the spread of smoke and flames. These doors are also tested and certified to meet strict industry standards, ensuring that they are able to provide the highest level of protection possible. Whether you are building a new structure or retrofitting an existing one, steel fire doors are an essential investment in the safety and well-being of your occupants.

Commercial properties have a legal requirement for fire safety, whether local authority buildings, leisure faciltiies, healthcare, hospitality, industrial environments and more. Our fire rated steel doors offer a high level of safety and reassurance for both internal and external use. By slowing the spread of blazes and smoke, it buys the critical time needed to effectively evacuate premises, making their sole purpose to ultimately save lives.
Singe & Double Fire Doors: High footfall corridors where it’s usually wider are advised to have double fire doors especially in the case of an emergency. The Code of Practice for Fire Door Assemblies (BS 8214:2008) specifies that fire doors must provide a similar level of fire resistance as the surrounding walls and floors. It is required that the same criteria must be followed for testing purposes.
As their sole purpose is to divide the building into separate compartments so that flames can be contained, this slows down the spead of fire which gives firefighters more time to arrive; for this reason, internal doors (in most circumstances) are considered more important than external ones. External fire doors on the other hand are found at the end of escape routes and as such, their use depends on the nature of the building and surrounding space. Push bars are typically fitted to emergency fire doors as they’re a suitable and quick evacuation solution. External fire doors are less about evacuation but more about the protection of surrounding equipment, preventing the flames from spreading to near buildings or wildlife, and if on a busy road, to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
