Timber Bin Store Doors
Our client at the Greys Inn required a secure yet aesthetically pleasing compound to store communal refuse bins. The challenge was to create a structure that provided the necessary functionality while complementing the style and décor of a listed building.
To meet the customer’s needs for both security and visual appeal, we proposed and implemented the following solution:
High-Density Hardwood Enclosure
- We designed and constructed a robust enclosure using high-density hardwood. This material was chosen for its durability and ability to withstand external elements, ensuring long-term security for the communal refuse bins.
Wide Bi-Folding Hardwood Timber Doors
- The enclosure featured very wide bi-folding hardwood timber doors, allowing easy access for waste management while maintaining a secure and functional design. The bi-folding mechanism optimised space and provided smooth operation, accommodating the needs of frequent use.
Raised and Fielded Panel Design
- The doors were crafted with raised and fielded panels, adding a touch of traditional elegance that aligned perfectly with the architectural style of the listed building.
Custom Colour Scheme
- To ensure the compound blended seamlessly with its surroundings, the enclosure and doors were decorated in a custom colour scheme that matched the listed building’s existing decor. This attention to detail preserved the historic aesthetic while introducing a modern functional solution.
The custom-built hardwood enclosure provided a stylish and secure storage solution for communal refuse bins, perfectly complementing the listed building’s architectural charm. The use of high-quality materials and thoughtful design ensured both functionality and durability, while the tailored colour scheme maintained the building’s historic integrity. This project successfully balanced practicality with visual appeal, meeting the customer’s requirements for both security and aesthetic harmony.
